Bahamas Ministry of Tourism Announces Title Sponsorship of Prestigious 2023 White Sands Bahamas NCAA Invitational

 

NASSAU, Bahamas ( 19 Oct. 2023)  The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation (BMOTIA) today announced that the Ministry is the title sponsor of the 2023 White Sands Bahamas NCAA Invitational, a world-class tournament that showcases the intersection of elite collegiate golf and the breathtaking beauty of The Bahamas. For over the past 10 years, BMOTIA has sponsored the event which is scheduled from 20 – 29 Oct. at the acclaimed Ocean Club Golf Course on Atlantis Paradise Island. Atlantis Paradise Island and the Ocean Club Golf Course are also sponsors of the event which is set to captivate golf enthusiasts and spectators alike.

The Hon. I Chester Cooper, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments & Aviation said: “White Sands Bahamas is one of the highlights of our destination’s annual sports calendar of events. This event not only showcases elite collegiate golf but also spotlights the beauty of The Bahamas. Set against the backdrop of the Ocean Club Golf Course with its stunning sea views, media coverage of this tournament draws global attention to our destination, solidifying The Bahamas’ position as a premier destination for sports tourism."

Now in its fourth year, the NCAA Invitational delivers a unique blend of professional and amateur golf. The meticulously designed Ocean Club Golf Course, stretching over 7,100 yards and sculpted by major champion Tom Weiskopf, serves as the alluring backdrop for this premier sporting event.

This week-long meet will draw over 200 Division 1 NCAA athletes, coaches, trainers, administrators, and 150 alumni, boosters, and guests. Hosted by Santa Clara University, the men's tournament will unfold from 20 -22 Oct. with the women's competition following suit from 27 – 29 Oct.

The White Sands Bahamas NCAA Invitational goes beyond the greens, offering a compelling College-Am competition that brings together college participants, local sponsors, and university alumni/guests. Managed by Troon Golf, the Ocean Club Golf Course has garnered international acclaim, having previously hosted the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic.

Admission to both events is complimentary. An invitation is extended to both residents and visitors to witness the pinnacle of collegiate golf.
